a photo and a test

The photo you're seeing above is simply a bit of lagniappe. I've hooked my Flickr account into this blog account and I'm trying to see how well it works to post a blog entry directly from Flickr. If I like what I see, expect more photo-with-description entries ... more to the point, expect more entries, which is a good thing.

The above photo was taken on New Year's Eve from the hotel room that The Beau and I had at the Hyatt on Town Lake. We splurged and it was definitely worthwhile -- a great way to spend NYE in Austin. We walked around the First Night festivities, then watched the fireworks at midnight from our hotel room window. Perfect.

Edited to add: It works pretty well but there's some tweaking involved, unless I feel like having search engines pick up my full first name and publish it right here on this page, which I don't.
